What special safe facilities should be tested before using of newly instal construction elevators?
When general devices pass test and inspection and conform to requirements, some special tests and inspections must be done to ensure safe use of hoist, the inspections shall cover following contents at least:
a. Test and inspection of Anti-falling Safety Device shall satisfy:
Ensure that anti-falling safety device has been correctly installed; the safety device shall be in the regulated valid period (valid period of falling protector is not more than 1 year since last test. After 5 years using, the safety device shall be scrapped, calculating from the date of production that show on nameplate, and be replaced by a new one.); drop test with rated load shall be done according to description in G ‘Cage Anti-falling Test’ of <Installation Manual>. The sliding distance of cage in falling test shall meet the regulated requirement. After drop test, the safety device must be reset.
Attention: It is strictly prohibited to damage the seal of Anti-falling Safety Device!
b. Signs and operating manual
Ensure that relevant warnings and signs are complete, and operators shall have copy of this manual for reference at any time; examine the hoist operators (workers operating hoists) whether they have read, completely understood and remembered the contents and the meaning of warnings and signs in this manual.
c. Final service test
After installation and commissioning, final test run and inspection shall be done and conform to requirements.
d. Final report
After acceptance test and inspection, final report shall be submitted. This report shall summarize all the faults found in test and inspection process tersely and concisely, and illustrate all the indispensable work before using the hoist.
